To avoid losing control of your vehicle, do not make take abrupt stops or turns. It’s also vital to slow down, your reflexes may be good but you can’t predict where the icy roads are. Avoid winter collision by simply slowing down, this will be beneficial to have more time to react. It’s also important to never tailgate, especially during winter. Again, roads are slippery so make sure to leave enough room between your car and the one in front of you.
A simple safety tip is to make sure you have your lights on. Winter days tend to be grey and snowy, so there’s less visibility. Having lights on ensures other drivers can see you and it’s an easy way to avoid collisions.
Cruise control may not be the best to use during winter. Since the conditions are so unpredictable, so are other drivers. Avoiding cruise control altogether is best for this time of the year and get better control of your car.
