Engine Oil: the most important fluid would be the engine oil since it lubricates and cools all the internal moving parts inside the engine. You can learn more about our Oil Change service here.
Not all engine oils are created equal ,there are regular ,recycled , synthetic oils with different viscosities and specifications, used without proper knowledge and understandings of the difference between them can seriously damage your car engine, sometime that damage is obvious immediately, other times in a long run, only after thousands of kilometres driven, but the end result is the same “EXPENSIVE ENGINE REPAIRS”.
Transmission Fluid: it lubricates and cools your car’s transmission allowing to smoothly shift gears and it keeps that car moving on the road. The transmission fluid has to be changed at pre-set intervals as recommended by each manufacturer. This will potentially make your transmission last the life time of your car. You should check your transmission regularly, for signs of leaks and make sure fluid level is at manufacture pre-set marks.
Power Steering Fluid: Check these fluid regularly making sure the levels are full. Power steering is what helps you steer your car but it can diminish your ability to steer safely if levels are low or the fluid is degrading.
Brake fluid: is also very important to maintain the proper functioning of the brakes. If moisture contaminates the brake system it will corrode some components and could result in brake failure. Brake fluid is to be replaced as a rule of thumb every 2 years on some European models cars, and some domestic models every 4 years but for exact interval check your owner manual.
Coolant: the main function of this fluid is to keep your engine cooled. It has a life span and it needs to be periodically tested and replaced if it becomes acidic which in turn can lead to engine corrosion, degrading rubber hoses and system leaks. Fortunately by changing the coolant periodically it will save you unnecessary and premature repairs.
